Journalist Violet Blue's "Huge, FREE Covid-safety resource list" is great, it's a huge help having so much information and so many links all in one place:

She also puts out a free weekly Covid-news roundup that makes it a lot easier to keep up with developments, events, resources, etc:

Such an excellent post, JD. Chock full of helpful info. I’ll share it in my next post.

Anecdotally, some long haulers fare worse with Novavax than with mRNA vaccines. I’ve heard of that happening a few times. Also, I recently turned 50 and asked my LC-steeped functional medicine doctor if I should get the shingles vaccine or hold off. He advised me to hold off, saying that he’s seeing some bad reactions to it in long haulers and that it uses the same technology as Novavax. I don’t want to scare folks, but just something to consider. If folks have done ok on mRNA vaccines, they may not want to switch. A close long hauler friend of mine did fine with several rounds of mRNA vaccines. She then switched to Novavax and had one of her longest lasting crashes. I wish we knew more about why all this is so individualized…sigh…

thanks so much for all this! And thank you so much for sharing! Yeah I have been holding off on the Shingrix vaccine till I can have extra time to rest before and after since it is one of the more commonly nasty ones, along with the COVID mRNA ones… I do want to get it due to very well documented survival benefit, but I am already on daily cold sore prophylaxis with valacyclovir and wonder if that’s why I’ve never gotten shingles despite getting soooooo much else… And I will edit to remind people that all vaccines and treatments can have adverse reactions , including Novavax!

Omg, hard relate here…I’ve been on valacyclovir for five years and my doc just switched me to acyclovir. I am incredibly, multiply herpetic, apparently 🫣🫠. But I am going to do the shingles shots within a year. I’m seeing what you’re seeing about all the benefits, so we’ll just have to bear down I guess.
